One of our favourite activities at our on-arrival camps is without a doubt the cultural café. It gives our newly arrived volunteers the opportunity to share their favourite parts of their culture.
A fun way to celebrate intercultural exchange – volunteers can showcase everything from snacks to snippets of their countries’ history. In the past we’ve been presented with an in depth presentation of German drinking games as well as a Kurdish dance lesson for the entire group.
Of course we at ICYE can’t resist the opportunity to share our favourite bits and pieces of UK culture to prepare them for their volunteering adventure in the UK.
