My name is Lahja. I am a volunteer from Germany. The project I work at, here in the UK, is called the Oxford Kilburn Youth Trust, and it is a Youth Club in London.
At the OK Club children and young adults come in after school, and we play games together, do crafts and do sports such as football. It’s been a very great project to work at because the children are really open and make it very easy to feel comfortable in the work environment, and I have a lot of fun chatting with them.
During my time here in the UK, more specifically in London, the thing that I have enjoyed most is getting to know a lot of different people. London is a very international city and a lot of the people I meet have international backgrounds, which is always very interesting to talk about. I think it surprised me a bit how diverse London really is, but I have enjoyed it very much.
